In Memory of Roy Poppleton
Roy Poppleton, our long time Legionnaire board member, president, and Marketmen supporter passed away surrounded by family in April of 2023. After his years of serving in the Navy, Roy was a staple of the Marketmen community and program for the past 20+ years, often found working hard to get everything ready on a game day followed up by taking in the game from the shade of the trees along Buchanan Ave within Hansen Stadium. He served a critical role in the operations of Corvallis hosting the 2004 American Legion World Series amongst a myriad of other things within the community and baseball program.
The Poppleton family has asked for donations to be made in memory of Roy to the Corvallis American Legion Baseball Program in lieu of flowers. This can be done through the Donate button below or with a check addressed to Corvallis American Legion Baseball and sent to 3339 SW Long Ave, Corvallis, OR 97333 with Roy's name in the memo line.
We are reaching out to alumni players and families and the Marketmen community at large to continue to provide a top-notch experience to local baseball players and remove any financial barriers to participating. Please consider joining our efforts to Fill The Marketmen Cart so we can support our local ball players and continue our long tradition of excellence on the field and exciting nights at Taylor Field.
